This way, we get more from the law clerk, and the law clerk gets more form the experience. Law clerks at Collins & Slagle Co., LPA are directly involved in meaningful projects that impact real cases. Law clerks are given the chance to obtain real-world experience, including involvement in motion practice, drafting a variety of court documents, and trial preparation. Law clerks work closely with attorneys, other law clerks, and paralegals, and benefit from regular feedback and mentoring. Past law clerks have typically been in the top ten percent of their class, staff members and editors of law review, and have gone on to federal judicial clerkships and large-firm practice.
Some examples of cases that law clerks have worked on in the past at Collins & Slagle Co., LPA include: a declaratory judgment action in probate court on behalf of a beneficiary to return $1,300,000 in stock back to the estate based on forgery and fraud; summary judgment on a declaratory judgment action based upon $1,000,000 in Scot- Pontzer UM coverage; fraudulent transfer of money; breach of contract and unjust enrichment; defense of a wrongful discharge claim; will contests based upon incompetency, duress, and undue influence; wrongful death; interpleader actions for life insurance proceeds; employer intentional tort; negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress; and a rule against perpetuities violation in a trust. |
